The United States is currently the greatest source of instability in the world, California Governor Gavin Newsom said on Saturday at the Munich Security Conference. In his speech, the Democrat sharply criticized US President Donald Trump.

Newsom said during Saturday's panel that Trump “is temporary” and his rule is a matter of “years, not decades.” – If he were younger, I wouldn't necessarily say that. There is no doubt that he would run for a third term in such a case, the governor expressed his belief.

“I never thought this would happen in my lifetime, but unfortunately the US is now a source of more instability than any other country in the world,” he said.

– That's why we need to remind you that this is not permanent. I know that there is a lot of pessimism (belief – PAP) that this cannot be fixed. (…) But remember that he (Donald Trump – PAP) is a historically unpopular president. He will be crushed in the midterm elections, said Newsom, one of the most popular representatives of the Democratic Party.

He expressed his belief that The pro-Trump MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement will not survive after Trump is gone because it relies on a “cult of personality.” He called the US president an “invasive species” and said the president's strength is his ability to “exploit weakness.” – But he reacts completely differently to self-confidence, character and purpose – he added.

– I think the tone and tone of (U.S. Secretary of State Marc) Rubio's speech today is reflected in this. This was reflected in the actions of many European leaders. And I believe that Europe feels more united today, and perhaps this is one of Donald Trump's merits, he added.

He also declared that California wants to fill the “void” left on the world stage by the current US administration. (PAP)
