On Saturday morning, meteorologists issued yellow code alerts of snow and strong wind valid in several counties, starting tomorrow, February 15, until Monday. At the same time, ANM announces that the weather will cool significantly from Sunday, and ice will form in some places.

The first code yellow wind alert is in effect between February 15, 08:00 – February 15, 14:00. In the mentioned interval, in Dobrogea and in the east of Muntenia, the wind will intensify with gust speeds generally of 50…60 km/h.

Snow code yellow

From tomorrow, from 14:00, another code yellow wind alert is valid until February 16, 08:00. In the mentioned interval, in the counties of Vaslui, Galați, Vrancea, Tulcea, Constanța, Brăila, Ialomița, Călărași, Giurgiu, Teleorman, Olt, Dolj and Mehedinți, the wind will temporarily intensify, with gust speeds of 50…60 km/h and isolated 65…70 km/h.

There is also a yellow code for blizzard and snow cover between February 15, 14:00 and February 16, 08:00.

Targeted are the counties of Botoșani, Iași, the lowland area of ​​Suceava, Neamț, Bacău counties, as well as the mountain area of ​​Caraș Severin, Hunedoara, Gorj, Buzău, Vrancea and Covasna counties. Here, it will temporarily snow blizzard, an average of 5…15 cm of snow will be deposited and visibility will be reduced. The wind will have gust speeds of 50…60 km/h and isolated 70…80 km/h.

What will the weather be like the next few days?

Also, ANM has issued a weather information for the interval February 14, 23:00 – February 16, 08:00, of precipitation generally moderate in quantity, snow cover, ice, wind intensifications, blizzard, cooling

Thus, in the mentioned temporary interval, precipitation will generally be moderate quantitatively and will accumulate 10…15 l/m2 and isolated 20…30 l/m2.

Precipitation will be mainly in the form of rain, and snow will gradually prevail in the mountains and a new layer of snow will be deposited (especially at altitudes above 1500 m), of 10…15 cm and isolated around 20 cm. Throughout the day of Sunday (February 15) and the night of Sunday to Monday (February 15/16), there will be snow and sleet in Moldova, locally in Transylvania, Maramureș and the Western Hills, where a layer of snow of 5…8 cm will be deposited in general. Ice will form in places.

Temporarily the wind will intensify in most of the country, with speeds generally of 40…60 km/h.
