A woman lost her life in the fire of the car she was in with her husband, on Bulevardul Constructorilor in Bucharest. The car he was in is an electric vehicle with only two seats, one in the front, the other in the back.

The fire broke out around 1:00 p.m. when the Arora S2 car caught fire while driving. The man, who was behind the wheel, pulled to the right, in an area where other cars were parked. Three of them were also engulfed in flames, according to ISUBIF.

The 56-year-old man managed to get out of the car, but in order to evacuate his wife, he had to pull the seat to make room for her to get out. From the first reports, the flames spread very quickly so that the woman could no longer be removed from the car and she was burned to death.

Firefighters only managed to limit the proportions of the fire that spread to the other cars at the end of an intervention that lasted several tens of minutes. They tried to cool the car's battery which, under these circumstances, remains very hot for a long time, with the risk of the fire breaking out again. Later, they managed to remove the charred body of the 51-year-old woman.

According to Digi24, the man also suffered severe burns and was transported to Bagdasar Arseni Hospital. He is conscious, but will have to stay in the hospital for several weeks.

“From the first checks it emerged that the fire broke out in a car, the flames later spreading to other cars in the vicinity. Research is ongoing, under the coordination of the competent prosecutor's office, in order to accurately establish the causes and circumstances of the incident”, reported the Capital Police.

The first hypothesis of the investigators is that of a technical failure in the electric machine, the nature of which is still unexplained.

According to observatornews.ro, the car that burned is the Arora S2, an electric quadricycle, designed for short-distance trips, in the urban environment, with heavy traffic. The model is produced by the Arora Motor company in Turkey and can be driven without a category B license.
