In the “quarters”, U Cluj and Metalul Buzău will pair up with the teams that will qualify from group D. There, Hermannstadt, Dinamo, Concordia, Farul and Botoșani have chances to qualify and will play on Thursday, from 18:00.
In a game where both teams needed a win, the visitors started a bit better and had the first dangerous moments of the game.
It was Andrezinho and Ciobanu who threatened Lefter's goal. The Cluj players, quite absent in the first half, opened the scoring immediately after returning from the locker room.
Goal scorer Lukic, back as a starter, scored with a shot that didn't give Popescu any chance, after pivoting excellently in the box, like a real spike.
