The article “Exhibition of Models” talks about the models of the clothing factory, that the workers of the clothing factory do not study the demand of customers, but sew models blindly, “suits and dresses are made not for people with varied tastes, but for the abstract consumer, according to the principle “take what they give.” But times are different now. The article by the chief accountant of the construction office of the regional executive committee, A. Yuskov, “To expand the construction of our region in a Bolshevik manner,” talks about the reasons for the failure of construction plans in the region, the improper work of logging offices and problems with transport. Positive construction attempts in the area are also cited:
“So, in Waldheim and Stalindorf, logging for the construction of 1939 was, according to an agreement, entrusted to collective farms, which allocated horses and labor for this purpose and successfully completed their task. The Waldheim collective farm found the opportunity to harvest timber not far from the construction site and thereby relieved construction organizations of long-distance and difficult transportation. Some resettlement collective farms successfully carried out construction in their own country using an economic method, for example, The collective farm “Valdheim” built the vegetable storage facility itself, the collective farm “Ikor” built a cowshed and outbuildings for collective farmers. In the third five-year plan, resettlement to our region will take place mainly in the order of repopulating existing collective farms. In 1939, collective farm construction will take place in our region at 46 construction sites. With such scattered construction, it is unthinkable for the work to be carried out successfully from one center, without the active participation of collective farms and district executive committees.
