“Hey big man.” Sikorsky appealed to Musk due to the use of RF Starlink on drones

“Hey big man Elon Musk, why don't you stop the Russians from using Starlink to attack Ukrainian cities? Making money from war crimes can harm your brand,” Sikorsky said in a tweet.

At the same time, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov confirmed at the Drone Army 2025 event that Russian drones had indeed begun to operate via Starlink, and noted the need to act without delay, Interfax-Ukraine reported on January 27.

“We need to react very quickly to this. And the speed of our reaction, predicting subsequent cases and responding to potential cases should lead to us not allowing problems for our people, for our military,” Fedorov said.

He added that when working on the so-called mathematics of war, operational decisions and their implementation into concrete results are important.

Earlier, on January 26, Advisor to the Minister of Defense Sergei Beskrestnov (Flash) reported on Telegram about another case of using a drone via Starlink.

“We are recording the fact that the BM-35 UAV on Starlink has already flown to the Dnieper. Unlike the Molniya, this UAV is fuel-powered and can fly up to 500 km,” Flesh noted.
