GetBack under the microscope of the prosecutor's office. A new indictment was brought to court


The prosecutor's office filed another indictment against former members of the management board of GetBack SA, including two former presidents of the management board – Konrad K. and Paweł T. It concerns damage exceeding PLN 40 million.

The indictment covers eight people. Among them, in addition to former presidents, are a former commercial proxy – Karolina P. and a former court bailiff – Rafał W., as well as four other people.
The spokesman for the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, Prosecutor Mateusz Martyniuk, explained that GetBack representatives, together with former bailiff Rafał W., in 2016-2017 concluded a number of agreements with detective and debt collection companies and companies creating debtor databases.
“Despite the failure to perform these contracts or their unreliable performance, undue remuneration was paid to the indicated companies, causing damage to GetBack SA in the amount exceeding PLN 40 million,” he added.

In addition, according to the prosecutor's office, in 2016, in the same team, they concluded license agreements for the use of the GetBack trademark for marketing purposes, causing damage to GetBack SA in the amount of nearly PLN 800,000. zloty.
The defendants will be charged with causing damage to business transactions, which is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

GetBack was established in 2012. It dealt with receivables management, and its bonds were offered by, among others, Idea Bank. In July 2017, GetBack debuted on the Stock Exchange. In April 2018, due to “the interest and safety of trading participants”, the WSE suspended trading in the company's shares and bonds.
