The prize “For the will to win” from the Valery Sergienko Foundation was awarded to the only representative of Brazil, Julia Penalber. Munkh-Erdene Bathuyag from the Mongolia national team won the prize for “Best Foreign Wrestler” from the Rosscongress Foundation, and North Korean athlete Choi Hyo Kyung was awarded the prize of the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory “For the Best Wrestling Technique”. Another prize from the head of the region, “Best Wrestler,” went to David Baev from the team of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.

“Once upon a time, Ivan Yarygin himself was the initiator of holding competitions that would help Siberian wrestlers improve their skills. And over the years, that initiative has grown into a large-scale tournament, which today is valued and respected by wrestlers from different countries. Ivan Sergeevich’s business lives on largely thanks to his wife, Natalya Yarygina. From year to year she personally participates in organizing and holding the tournament. And we – Krasnoyarsk residents and wrestling fans in different parts of Russia and the world – are grateful to her. Of course, a tournament is always a big team. I want to say thank you to everyone involved in organizing the Ivan Yarygin Cup,” said Denis Petrovsky, Minister of Sports of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Let us remind you that the Ivan Yarygin Cup is one of the most prestigious freestyle wrestling competitions in the world. It was established in 1990 in recognition of Yarygin’s special services to world sports. The first competitions were held in Abakan, all subsequent tournaments were hosted by Krasnoyarsk. At the moment, the Cup is one of the calling cards of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Holding an international freestyle wrestling tournament corresponds to achieving the goals of the state program “Sport of Russia”, aimed at popularizing sports and improving the quality of life and satisfaction of Russians.
