Phishing – what is it?
Phishing is one of the most common fraud methods on the Internet. It involves phishing for sensitive personal data via SMS or e-mail, although more and more often also popular messengers and social media platforms. Criminals impersonate trusted people or institutions in order to persuade the recipient to perform a specific action, for example clicking on a link or providing their data.
For this purpose, they send prepared messages that closely resemble authentic correspondence. Although they look credible, in fact they are false and are intended to mislead the recipient.
