Tyson Fury (37), the former world heavyweight boxing champion, has announced that he will return to the ring on April 11, 2026, in his native England. The British opponent will be the Russian Arslanbek Makhmudov (36 years old, Russia), and the duel will be broadcast live on Netflix.
A decade ago, Tyson Fury held the title of absolute heavyweight boxing champion. But in recent years, the boxer originally from Manchester has suffered two painful defeats to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
After the two defeats with Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury retired for 6 months
On 18 May 2024, he was defeated at the end of 12 rounds by split decision, while on 21 December 2024, Fury again lost to Usyk, this time by unanimous decision. Both matches took place in the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
On January 13, 2025, a few weeks after the second duel with Usyk, Fury announced his retirementthrough a message that ended with some enigmatic statements.
“Hello everyone! I'll keep this announcement short and sweet. I'd like to announce my retirement from boxing. It's been an enjoyable experience, I've loved every minute of it. I'll end with this: Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless you all! See you on the other side!” Fury said in a video.
After only 6 months, on July 3, 2025, the boxer with a record of 34 wins, one draw and two losses changed his mind and revealed that he will return to the ring and that he wants to get revenge against Usyk.
“Who would I rather fight now? Usyk. Because I want to get my revenge in England. I don't think I had a fair chance the last two times“, explained the athlete from Manchester.

Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov will take place on April 11 and will be available to watch on Netflix
At the time, April 18, 2026 was being offered by sources as a possible date for the 3rd fight between Fury and Usyk. After all, it looks like the Brit will indeed be back in the ring this April, but he will not have the Ukrainian champion as his opponent, but the Russian Arslanbek Makhmudov.
Aged 36, he has a record of 21 wins and two losses. In 2025, Makhmudov defeated Ricardo Brown in Quebec, Canada (June 27) and David Allen in Sheffield, England (October 11).
“I am delighted with the opportunity. I am coming to enter a war. Tyson Fury was a great champion. I will be more ready than ever to walk away with a huge win”, said Makhmudov, quoted by Reuters.
“I'm excited to be back. My heart has always been and always will be in boxing. Someone go tell the king that the ace is back,” Fury stated, referring to the symbols on the playing cards.
Fury's fight with Makhmudov will take place on April 11, will be streamed on Netflix and will take place in England, but the exact location of the event has not been revealed.
