Serious incident at a kindergarten in Vâlcea: a little girl injured. Contradictory versions about the occurrence of the accident

A 5-year-old child suffered serious injuries following an incident at the kindergarten. The incident is reported differently by the child's parent, who accuses the staff of negligence, respectively by the representatives of IȘJ Vâlcea.

The incident happened on Thursday morning, at Grădinița Ostroveni 3 in Râmnicu-Vâlcea, but the event became public after the child's parent made a post on a Facebook group, attaching several photos. The parent lets it be understood that the girl had an altercation with another groupmate. The colleague allegedly pushed her, the girl tripped and in the fall hit the furniture in the group room, suffering deep wounds in the mouth area.
“Look how this morning I was called to pick up my little girl from kindergarten! I received a phone call around 8:30 a.m. to come urgently to pick up my daughter from Ostroveni Kindergarten 3 that she had been playing with a child and that she had a broken lip. When I got there, to find out and notice that my little girl is disfigured and with a split lip, several broken teeth and a bruised and swollen chin and to find out that a classmate hit her and pushed her against the classroom table. I also got in touch with the mother of the little girl who pushed her and hit me and told me not to bother her anymore, that her daughter didn't do anything and that my little girl tripped, and she also spoke very harshly to me”, reported the parent in the post on the Parents of Students from Romania group.
“When I arrived at the kindergarten, my little girl was in the bathroom with the teachers, the nurse and two nurses who had already put sterile compresses on her mouth, telling me to take her to the hospital, but not to take the compress off her mouth until I got to the hospital. Afterwards, the girl was whining very badly from the pain while we were walking, I told her to let me look at her mouth to see how her lip was broken, not knowing and not seeing in that commotion that she was actually split open and that she was missing a few teeth from her mouth.” continued the father.
The father also stated that he is unhappy that the kindergarten staff did not call 112 to ask for specialist help and that he does not explain the event, because “in that class there are always two educators and a caretaker”.
“In the morning I will file a complaint with the police and a medico-legal certificate. I also attached the pictures of my little girl and the conversations and the recording with the little girl's mother who hit her”, the father also showed in the post, also stating that his daughter is diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
Later, the girl's father told “Adevărul” that on Friday, January 16, he filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office and also took steps with the Forensic Medicine. He would also have been called by the police after reading his post.
“I want to do justice, because it's not normal, my daughter is mutilated”
Now the little girl is at home, being cared for by her parents, after the emergency intervention at the hospital on Thursday evening, the father said. The family experienced delicate moments, given the child's illness. The little girl's blood sugar would have dropped dangerously, necessitating an infusion. Later he intervened to treat the wound.
“She told me that I have to go with her to get a CT scan on her head and to go with her to the dentist. I got in touch with the educators, and the educators, that, sir, that I shouldn't go to the police, that they are begging me nicely, that I'm making trouble for them too, and there's no point. Let's see how the girl's mouth thing goes, that she'll be okay, I don't know what. And I said that I want to do justice, that it's not normal, my daughter is mutilated. Come on, if there was a sign on the hand, I would say, there are children, everything is fine. The girl told me that the educator Maria was on the phone, she was playing with Irina, and Medea came and pushed her hard with her mouth. But he misled me as to why he wanted me to leave with the girl from kindergarten, why did they insist? They should have called at least an ambulance for me, something”said the father.
The father is unhappy that he was told to take the child to the hospital alone without the nursery staff calling for an ambulance and taking responsibility for the whole incident.
“We found out from the post he made”
The kindergarten did not announce the incident to the Vâlcea County School Inspectorate, so everything came to light only when the father made the post on the social network. Then the bureaucratic procedure was set in motion, a team was sent to the kindergarten to check what happened, and the first conclusions would be that the incident occurred without another child being involved.
“The child was not in the kindergarten today, he was kept by the parent at home. Things, from the information we collected, are not as reported in that post. The child really fell, but no one pushed him. It happened yesterday morning, the teacher was in the group room. There were other children, because it was between 8.00 and 9.00 when the children come to the kindergarten. (…) They were running, the lady told them to keep calm and until the lady got her hand, they called the doctor immediately, and they have a doctor and a nurse there, who came and took the child, as I understand it turn, may the child be well”, said the general school inspector of IȘJ Vâlcea, Mihaela Andreianu, for “Adevărul”.

The girl will need 11-12 days of medical care PHOTO: victim father archive
The father did not directly address the IȘJ, and the kindergarten did not inform the superiors, so the county institution only found out when the post appeared.
“It is logical that if you are dissatisfied, you come to complain. You tell the director, it doesn't get resolved, or you are dissatisfied with the answer the director gives you, you go to the Inspectorate. We found out from the post he made,” stated Andreianu. The representatives of the kindergarten will in turn give explanations for the fact that they did not announce the incident.
However, the family is determined not to end up with an administrative investigation, so a criminal complaint has been filed. The father says he will also seek compensation, because he was told at the hospital that other interventions may be needed. According to the medico-legal certificate, the girl will need 11-12 days of medical care to heal the injuries suffered. The same document also states that as a result of the trauma, the child also lost a tooth.
