The value of Polish support for Ukraine exceeded EUR 21 billion; in relation to GDP, we are one of the largest donors in the world – said Wojciech Balczun, Minister of State Assets, during the forum in Davos. He added that some reports estimate this aid at 6.7%. Poland's GDP.

“In decisive moments, after the start of the full Russian invasion, Poland firmly sided with Ukraine. Our aid to Ukraine has significantly exceeded EUR 21 billion, which places us among the largest donors in the world in relation to GDP. Some reports estimate this aid at 6.7%. our GDP” – Balczun said during the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, quoted in the ministry's press release published on Friday.

As he pointed out, this assistance includes military equipment worth approximately EUR 1 billion, humanitarian aid and activities undertaken by private individuals. He noted that over 70 percent helped Ukrainians. Polesoffering, among others: accommodation and material assistance.

The head of MAP also assessed that the reconstruction of Ukraine is also an economic opportunity that “can change our region and even the whole of Europe.” He emphasized that the estimated cost of such a project by 2034 is EUR 506 billion. – Such a large scale of expenditure requires international cooperation and innovative solutions – he emphasized.

Balczun also emphasized that Poland wants to participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine, and Polish companies should be preparing for this now.

The Ministry of State Assets also reported that the minister met with representatives of business and government administration from other countries during his stay in Davos, including: with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Harry Theoharis, with the vice presidents of Google Cloud Marianne Janick and Matt Renner, with the president of the leading French energy company EDF Bernard Fontana and the president of the Danish company Vestas Henrik Andersen.

He also talked with the Minister of Development of Local Communities of Ukraine, Artem Rybchenko, with the First Deputy Minister of Development, Communities and Territories of Ukraine, Alona Shkrum, and the head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, Dmytro Natalukha, and participated in the so-called Ukrainian breakfast with the participation of NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, President of Latvia Edgars Rinkevics, President of Finland Alexander Stubb, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schoof, Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenkovic and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Radosław Sikorski.
