Bathroom mirrors quickly lose their shine: splashes of water, traces of toothpaste, soap scum – all this leaves stains that are visible immediately after a shower. Conventional products often make the problem worse, leaving an iridescent film or requiring re-wiping after a couple of hours.
But there is a simple life hack that few people know. It requires just one item from your home medicine cabinet and gives the same effect as after a professional cleaning.
Take medical alcohol 70% or 96%, diluted with water 1:1. It dissolves plaque, evaporates without a trace and creates a thin invisible film on the surface that repels moisture and dirt. The splashes simply roll off, but the dust does not settle.
How to use:
- Pour some rubbing alcohol onto a soft microfiber cloth or cotton pad.
- Wipe the mirror in a circular motion from the center to the edges.
- For particularly stubborn soap or toothpaste stains, apply gentle pressure and repeat.
- Finally, go over the surface with the dry side of the cloth.
Alcohol is safe for any mirror, glass, even acrylic surfaces. It leaves no odor, does not require rinsing and does not damage the coating.
Try it and you will forget about daily wiping. Even after a hot shower the mirror will remain transparent
