Official statement from the Blik press office

In response to the editorial team's questions, the Blik press office explained that the problem does not concern the entire system infrastructure. “Some users may have difficulties using selected Blik services. The situation is related to technical disruptions on the part of one of the publishers and does not affect the entire system,” it was reported. This means that customers of other banks (e.g. PKO BP, ING or Santander) may, but do not have to, feel the effects of this failure, depending on the stability of connections with the mBank system.

The scale of the Blik system in Poland

Technical problems are particularly acute due to the huge popularity of mobile payments in Poland. The latest data shows that:

  • In 2024, Poles did it 2.4 billion transactions Blik.

  • In the first half of 2025 alone, this number was 1.4 billionwhich means an increase of 24% year on year.

  • The total transaction value in the first six months of 2025 exceeded PLN 207.3 billion.

The shareholders of Polski Standard Płatności (the Blik operator) are the largest banks in the country, including Alior Bank, Bank Millennium, Santander Bank Polska, ING Bank Śląski, mBank, PKO Bank Polski and Mastercard.
