BLIK failure in mBank. Problems with transfers


Malfunction BLIK. On Monday, some BLIK users encountered problems with making telephone and express transfers. As the BLIK press office informed PAP, the difficulties result from technical disruptions.

The failure is reported by, among others: users of the downdetector.pl website. The number of reports increased in the afternoon. Most reports (77%) concern problems with BLIK payments. mBank customers also report that they have problems with transfers (64%) and mobile banking (24%).
mBank also informed about the difficulties, which in a message to customers said that BLIK phone transfers and express transfers are temporarily unavailable both on the transaction website and in the mobile application. At the same time, the bank assured that standard transfers operate without any problems and work is underway to restore all services as soon as possible.
The BLIK press office emphasized that the problems only concern some users and are related to one of the issuers, and not to the entire payment system.

What is BLIK?
BLIK is the most popular mobile payment standard in Poland, managed by Polski Standard Płatności. The company's shareholders include, among others: Alior Bank, Bank Millennium, Santander Bank Polska, ING Bank Śląski, mBank, PKO Bank Polski and Mastercard.
In 2024, 2.4 billion transactions were completed via BLIK for a total amount of over PLN 347.3 billion. In the first half of 2025, the number of transactions amounted to 1.4 billion and their value exceeded PLN 207.3 billion, which means an increase of 24 and 31 percent, respectively. year to year.

Cashless payments are becoming more and more popular in Poland. Already 75 percent consumers regularly use such payments, and the popularity of cards, smartphones, watches and BLIK is also growing.
Poland is one of the countries where digital payment infrastructure was the latest to develop. However, thanks to this, we used the latest available technological solutions. We quickly caught up with our European neighbors, and the number of payments using wearable devices such as watches or smart bands now exceeds countries such as Germany or Sweden.
