▪️In the 19th century, blue-yellow colors became a sign of the Ukrainian national movement. And in 1917, with the proclamation of the Ukrainian People's Republic, this very flag was approved as the state flag;
▪️It happened under blue-yellow three proclamations of Ukrainian statehood: 1917, 1941 and 1990;
▪️After the establishment of Soviet power in Ukraine, our flag was banned. He was imprisoned for using it. The KGB monitored such “anti-Soviet” actions, but this did not stop the patriots. Flags were hoisted all over the country;
▪️On the day of declaration of Independence of Ukraine deputies brought our flag to the Verkhovna Rada for the first time, but the majority of those present did not allow it to be raised above the dome;
▪️It happened only on September 4, 1991 after numerous rallies of Ukrainianswho demanded his official status;
▪️And on September 18, 1991, the Presidium of the VRU legally established the blue-yellow flag, and On January 28, 1992, the law on the state flag was adopted;
▪️The most popular interpretation is that the blue stripe means a clear sky, and the yellow one means a golden wheat field. There is a version that these colors symbolize the main elements of nature – fire and water, and in religion – yellow represents God and spirituality, and blue – everything earthly;
▪️The Ukrainian flag entered the Guinness Book of Records. We are talking about the flag, which was made in Bakhmut in 2012. Its area is 2,400 m²;
▪️Our “cyborgs”, who protected the airport in Donetsk, hoisted the flag over the control tower, despite constant shelling by terrorists. They did this until the tower was blown up;
▪️There is a myth that the flag should not be blue and yellowand yellow-blue, and the fact that it was turned over is the main thing the cause of misfortunes befalling Ukraine. In fact, it was possible to meet both options, and after the overthrow of the Hetmanate, the UNR approved the current sequence of stripes.
