Localization in public procurement is a component of “done in Ukraine”
The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development approved with the remarks of the Ministry of Economy's proposal to expand localization in public procurement for another 25 goods.
“The desire for producers of 25 types of products to join the policy of localization testifies to its success. In the war, localization has solved the issue of survival and development for entire sectors of the Ukrainian economy, in particular the production of public transport, communal equipment and attachment for it, fire-fighting machines and others. Expansion of localization will be opened in the future for new such initiatives from manufacturers, ” – said Dmitry Kysilevsky.
Currently, the current public procurement law extends the requirement of localization to 103 goods from 4 main categories. In 2025, the level of localization is required at 25%, in the future this figure will increase annually by 5%until it reaches 40%.
