The US Department of State announced on Tuesday on the X platform that the Iranian authorities intend to execute one of the protesters, 26-year-old Erfan Soltani, who was sentenced to death on January 14. As a result, Donald Trump threatened Tehran with “very strong actions” from the United States.

Reuters reported on Wednesday – citing Western officials – that US intervention in Iran could occur within the next 24 hours.
However, the Iranian foreign minister denied the planned executions. In turn, Donald Trump stated in a conversation with journalists at the White House that he had “reliable” information that “killings in Iran have stopped” and “there are no plans to execute” those arrested.
“We have been notified, quite firmly, that we will find out what this all means, but we have been told that the killing is ending in Iran. They stopped,” Trump said. He added that Wednesday was supposed to be the “big day of the executions” of prisoners, but he had received information from a good source that they had been canceled.
