A 23-year-old resident of Krasnoyarsk is accused of fraud under the pretext of helping him pass the driver's license exam.

The victim of the attacker was a 22-year-old Krasnoyarsk woman. Previously, the girl studied at a driving school, but due to the birth of a child, she decided to take the exam later. And last year she met a guy and he offered to help her.

“The new acquaintance assured the Krasnoyarsk woman that he would agree with the traffic police inspectors that she would be given a “satisfactory” rating even if there were mistakes. He asked for 45 thousand rubles for his services. The victim transferred the specified amount to his card, after which the attacker informed him of the date and time when he needed to appear for the theory test,” the police said and showed their correspondence.

Having not prepared for the exam, the girl failed the test and was told to come again in six months. The Krasnoyarsk woman tried to contact the “intermediary,” but he stopped communicating and she wrote a statement to the police. Law enforcement officers found the guy and opened a criminal case against him under. 2 tbsp. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud causing significant damage to a citizen.”

The investigation has now been completed and the materials have been sent to court for consideration on the merits. The defendant may be punished with a fine of up to 300 thousand rubles; or be sent to compulsory, corrective or forced labor; or imprisonment for up to 5 years.
