Power hydraulics manufacturer Ponar Wadowice, also operating in the defense industry, is planning to expand its factory, using support within the Polish Investment Zonewhich was granted by the decision of the Krakow Technology Park – the institution currently managing PSI in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship and the Jędrzejów County in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.
As Andrzej Kulig, president of the Krakow Technology Park, emphasized on Tuesday, this is it first decision about the support provided by KPT a company producing for the defense sector.
“Based on changes to the regulations in the Polish Investment Zone, which were introduced in 2025, companies investing in the defense sector can also apply for tax exemption. Ponar Wadowice is an important company for usbecause it produces components for weapons that are absolutely crucial right now“- emphasized Kulig.

The decision under the Polish Investment Zone program is associated with a tax relief for the implementation of the company's new venture. Its investment plans amount to nearly PLN 100 million, and the tax exemption will amount to 50%. costs incurred, which means that the company will save nearly PLN 50 million.
As part of a new investment a hall will be built where components offered for the defense sector will be assembledthe company will also purchase, among others, machining centers, loading systems and other production equipment.

Piotr Rosikowski, director of technology and development at Ponar Wadowice, noted that the new investment involves the implementation of new solutions developed in the company's own research and development center.
“For us, this decision is special because after several years of advanced work research and development carried out by our engineers in Ponar Wadowice, It's time to implement their effects. The decision to enter the zone will enable us to launch full-scale production for the defense sector, dual-use solutions and solutions for the civil industry,” explained the director.

Ponar has its headquarters in two locations: in Wadowice and Łaziska Górne (Lesser Poland Voivodeship), where it employs approximately 760 people. The company deals with the design, construction and servicing of complete hydraulic systems.
The Polish Investment Zone (PSI) is a form of support for companies planning new investments. An investment under PSI in the area of operation of KTP allows for exemption from CIT or PIT income tax for a period of 14 or 15 years. It can be located on all areas (purchased from private or public entities). Both small, medium and large entrepreneurs can apply for support. Throughout last year, the Krakow Technology Park issued a record number of 72 decisions to support new investments within the Polish Investment Zone. The total value of the declared projects is over PLN 1.66 billion, and 268 new jobs will be created.
