The Supreme Court rejected complaints against the sentences of Krasnoyarsk businessman Anatoly Bykov

The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation rejected cassation appeals against two sentences against Krasnoyarsk businessman and ex-deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Anatoly Bykov, who was convicted on three sentences to 20 years in a maximum security colony. His lawyer Alexey Vasiliev told TASS about this.

Let us remind you that in In September 2021, the jury returned a guilty verdict in Bykov's case for organizing the murders of two men in 1994, and the court sentenced him to 13 years in prison.

In May 2023, Bykov was found guilty of inciting the murder of businessman Andrei Grabovsky, whose assassination attempt occurred in 2004, and was sentenced to 11 years in prison. Taking into account the previous verdict, the court partially added the punishment and sentenced Bykov to 17 years in a maximum security colony.

And in December 2023, the court in the third case of organizing and inciting murder sentenced Bykov to another 12 years in prison.

According to his lawyer, he filed a cassation appeal addressed to the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov in the last two cases.

“The complaints were rejected and were not submitted to the presidium for consideration [Верховного суда РФ]“, said Alexey Vasiliev, adding that this is the highest authority for appealing the verdict.

Now Anatoly Bykov is serving his sentence in correctional colony No. 9 in Karelia.
