The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Krasnoyarsk Territory summed up the results of the New Year holidays

Over the 12-day New Year's weekend in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, 176 fires were extinguished, 11 people died in the fire, 8 were injured, 17 were rescued. The statistics were published by the Regional Emergency Situations Ministry.

It is noted that most often fires occurred due to violations of safety rules during the operation of furnaces – 55 cases, due to a short circuit in electrical wiring – 53 cases, and also due to careless handling of fire – 51 fires. Due to carelessness while smoking, 5 fires occurred.

“Voluntary fire department units were involved in extinguishing 19 times. The forces and means of the Ministry of Emergency Situations responded to road accidents 55 times, 5 people were rescued. There were no incidents in the water areas during the holidays. Flooding in two settlements remains under control: in the city of Yeniseisk, 20 household plots and 2 sections of roads are flooded, in the village of Ozernoye – 24 sections. Temporary accommodation centers are functioning, but there are no people there. The actual water level on the Yenisei River in the Yeniseisk area is 999 cm (-22 cm in 12 hours),” the ministry said.
