WP said in a statement that as a result of integration an international structure is created, including brands operating in nine European countries and supporting nearly six million travelers annually. The team is responsible for activities in the markets: Poland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Croatia.
It was reported that Aleksander Kusz, vice president of E-commerce at WP Holding, heads the team. In turn, Dariusz Górzny, the current president of Wędza.pl, will be responsible for tourist packages throughout the region of Central and Eastern Europe. It was added that the management team will still be found after four managers from Germany and Poland.
According to the announcement, the integrated activity includes the current tourist assets of WP, i.e. Wękza.pl and Szallas Group, as well as the brand of the acquired Invia group: AB-in-Den-Urlaub (German-speaking markets), Fluege.de (German-speaking markets), Invia (Central and Eastern Europe) and Travelplanet (Poland). “They will respond to all the needs of travelers: from organized holiday trips, through City Breaki, local tourism and rental to independent air travels” – added WP.
At the end of March, the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection agreed to the purchase.
Wirtualna Polska became involved in the tourist segment in 2015, taking over the website vacation.pl.
