One of the most serious incidents took place in Jabalia, in the north of the region, where two Israeli missiles hit a police station near the local market. The attack caused the death of at least 10 people and the injury of dozens of inhabitants in the area, local medical sources said, quoted by Reuters.

In a statement that seems to target the same event, the Israeli army has announced that it has hit an command and control center operated by Hamas and groups affiliated with the Islamic jihad. According to the army, the location was used for planning and coordinating some attacks against Israel.

Israel frequently accuses Hamas of using civilians and civil infrastructure as human shields, an accusation rejected by the Palestinian organizations.

In addition to the Jabalia attack, at least 16 other people lost their lives in air raids on Thursday in other parts of the Gaza strip. The total balance of victims from the resumption of Israeli military operations, on March 18, amounts to over 1,900 dead, according to local health authorities. In January 2025, it was established the conclusion of a fragile cessation of fire.

The efforts of Arab mediators Qatar and Egypt, supported by the United States, have not been able to reconcile the disputes between the two parties, Israel and Hamas.

The attacks began in October 2023, when thousands of armed people led by Hamas attacked the communities around the Gaza strip, killing about 1,200 people. Since then, more than 51,300 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli offensive in Gaza, according to health officials.
