On the evening of January 3, the inhabitants of the Earth could observe the first full moon of 2026, which is also called the Wolf Moon. It also rose over Krasnoyarsk.

“The name ‘Wolf Moon’ comes from the folklore of Europe and North America, where cold January nights were filled with wolf howls – not from hunger, as was previously thought, but for communication within the pack,” said Head of the Reshetnev University Observatory Sergei Veselkov.
