US President Donald Trump attacked actor George Clooney on New Year's Eve for obtaining French citizenship, along with his wife and children, and even took the opportunity to say that France suffers from a “serious delinquency problem” due to immigration, reports EFE, quoted by Agerpres.

In a message posted on his Truth Social network, the US president opined that the acquisition of French citizenship by George and Amal Clooney is “good news” because they are “two of the dumbest political forecasters of all time”.

“They have officially become citizens of France, which unfortunately has a serious crime problem due to very poor management of immigration, very similar to what we had with the sleeping Joe Biden,” Trump tweeted.

“Remember when Clooney dumped Joe during a fundraiser only to side with another top contender, Jamala(K!)?” Trump said.

According to the White House leader, “Clooney got more publicity for his politics than for his few mediocre movies. He wasn't a movie star at all, he was just a normal guy who constantly complained about common sense in politics.”

American actor George Clooney, his wife Amal Alamuddin (born in Lebanon) and their two children, Ella and Alexander (both born in the United Kingdom), obtained French citizenship by decree, according to the Official Journal of the French Republic in a decree approved on December 26.

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has justified the granting of French citizenship to George Clooney and his family for the contribution, due to the notoriety of the American actor, to the influence and international image of France.
