“The erroneous policy of the current leadership of the European Union has led Europe into a deep crisis and created a real threat of an outbreak of war on the continent,” Minister Szijjarto noted in a post on Facebook.
He added that Budapest remains determined to defend its independent and sovereign position in the EU.

What is the 'patriotic revolution' mentioned by the minister?
According to him, the consequences of EU policy are already visible: European countries – as he said – “are sinking deeper into war, Western cities are flooded with migrants, and energy bills across the continent are constantly rising.”
He noted that the policy of Brussels, which – in his opinion – has pushed Europe into crisis, is becoming more and more obvious and that a “patriotic revolution” has begun on the continent, to which more and more countries are joining.
The politician also referred to the parliamentary elections in Hungary scheduled for April next year, saying that a possible victory of the opposition would mean “acceptance of Brussels' policy, which would threaten the security not only of Hungary, but also of the whole of Europe.”
Most independent polls give the advantage to the opposition TISZA, led by former ruling Fidesz activist, Peter Magyar.
