Creotech in the European quantum project. A new era of the Polish company and plans for separation

The project includes the construction of a cross-border quantum key distribution (QKD) link based on a mobile ground station. It will be implemented in a consortium led by the Scientific and Academic Computer Network – National Research Institute (NASK).
Creotech Instruments is a member of the consortium and will be responsible for the key components of the QKD optical ground station (QKD receiver developed together with the Military University of Technology, single photon detectors, support for integration and launch of the station).
Key photon detector
“The value of the project is approximately EUR 9.9 million, with most of the project budget allocated to infrastructure and equipment purchaseswhile Creotech's works amount to approximately EUR 0.4 million. The planned implementation period of the project starts on January 1, 2026 and will last 42 months. The Issuer considers participation in the project to be strategic because it will open a new product line for the Quantum Systems Division, during the process of separation into the new company Creotech Quantum SA,” we read in the announcement.

“Participation in the Pionier-Q-Sat project will allow for the demonstration of the company's new target product, a single photon detector. This detector is a key element of the quantum key distribution (QKD) network and will be used in ground stations to receive the key from the satellite. Secondly, Creotech will acquire competences and design its own solutions in the area of the QKD receiver and QKD ground station integration, which is the first step towards a broader entry into the quantum market key distribution via satellite. These technologies are developed and implemented in Europe as part of dedicated ESA and European Commission programs, in particular EuroQCI, ARTES, SAGA and ScyLight,” it was also reported.
Ultimately, quantum key distribution is to be implemented in critical infrastructures across Europe over the next few years and will cover both terrestrial networks and satellite links. The implementation of the project will enable Creotech to enter both this dynamically developing market, the company said.
Creotech on the main market of the WSE
Creotech Instruments is the largest Polish company producing and supplying space technologies and specialized electronics and equipment to the global market, including: for the needs of quantum computers, quantum cryptography and quantum physics and high energy laboratories.
The company debuted on the WSE main market in 2022, moving from the NewConnect market. The value of the offer was almost PLN 40 million (all of it consisted of new issue shares) and this is how much the company obtained for further development. Its capitalization reaches PLN 1.1 billion. The price increased by 120% in one year and by over 230% in three years.
Creotech Instruments is currently the leader of the Polish space sector on the WSE, which in 2025 moved from the intensive R&D phase to the stage of dynamic commercialization. After three quarters of 2025, the company reported record-breaking over revenues quadrupled (approx. PLN 95 million), which allowed achieving positive net results on a half-year basis.
This is a typical growth company (growth), which investors will focus on due to its proprietary satellite platform HyperSat and the development of quantum technologies. The growth is driven by strategic projects such as: Microglobe (for the Polish army) and prestigious missions for ESA, including the role of Prime Contractor in the lunar mission Twardowski.
Investors are paying attention to the planned separation of the quantum segment into a separate company (Creotech Quantum) and the potential to further scale satellite production in response to growing defense and scientific orders.
