Officers of the State Protection Office are obstructing the investigative activities of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine in the committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, NABU reported on Saturday. According to NABU, an undercover operation revealed a criminal group that included members of parliament.

“Officers of the Office of State Protection are resisting NABU employees while conducting investigative activities in the committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Detectives' access is restricted from the side of European Square in Kiev,” NABU wrote in the Telegram messenger.
“We would like to point out that obstructing the conduct of investigation activities constitutes a direct violation of the law,” NABU emphasized.
Earlier on Saturday, NABU and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) exposed an organized criminal group that included members of parliament.
“As a result of an undercover operation, NABU and SAP exposed an organized criminal group, which included current deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The findings of the investigation show that members of the group systematically received undue financial benefits in exchange for (appropriate – PAP) voting in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,” it was reported in a message on Telegram.
NABU is currently conducting investigative activities in the Committee on Transport and Infrastructure of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. This information was confirmed to the Suspilne portal by committee member Julia Syrko from the Hołos faction.
On November 10, NABU and SAP disclosed information about the participants in the extensive corruption system in the energy industry. They collected bribes ranging from 10 to 15 percent from contractors of Enerhoatom, the state operator of nuclear power plants. contract values. These measures were to be legalized by the so-called back office in the center of Kiev, through which – as it was determined – approximately USD 100 million passed through.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced on November 28 that the head of his office, Andriy Yermak, had resigned. Jermak is under investigation by NABU in connection with the investigation into corruption at Enerhoatom under the code name “Midas”. The scandal, revealed by NABU and SAP, broke out at the beginning of November, and in the investigation files Yermak is listed under the pseudonym Ali Baba.
NABU was established in 2014. Its creation was one of the conditions for Ukraine's cooperation with the EU and the IMF.
