In Krasnoyarsk, the prosecutor's office helped the daughter of a SVO participant receive a benefit for education.

According to the supervisory authority, in August 2025, the daughter of a participant in a special military operation submitted an application to the university to provide her with a discount on tuition fees. A certificate from the military commissariat confirmed: her father not only serves in the Russian Armed Forces, but also has the right to all support and social protection measures provided by the state.

But the girl was refused entry into the educational institution due to the fact that the certificate did not fully comply with the local act of the institution. The paradox was that the document was drawn up in the form of a federal order of the Minister of Defense.

“The girl contacted the prosecutor’s office. The audit revealed that the procedure for admission to preferential education, approved by the university, was not specified: it did not contain deadlines for consideration of applications, specific grounds for refusal and forms of notifying students about the decision,” the department reported.

All this created legal uncertainty and deprived family members of participants in the special military operation of a real opportunity to receive social support measures

Based on the results of the submission made by the prosecutor’s office, the university immediately made the necessary changes to its order “On providing a discount on tuition to family members of SVO participants” and provided the girl with a 100% discount on tuition.
