On the eve of the New Year holidays, the Krasnoyarsk ambulance station reminded residents of the rules for calling a medical team.

Firstly, the caller is required to answer all questions from the dispatcher on duty or the doctor on duty. This is necessary to determine the profile of the team that will be sent to the call.

Next, you need to provide your phone number for contact if it is necessary to clarify the address and information about the patient.

You also need to tell about the presence of obstacles for the ambulance vehicle to approach the call address: barriers, blocks or any obstacle blocking the passage. “If there are difficulties in access for ambulance workers to the call address, if possible, they must be eliminated: open the barrier, if there is no intercom, open the door to the entrance or meet the ambulance team. Fulfilling this condition will reduce the time the team arrives to the patient. This is extremely important if there is a threat to the patient’s life,” the experts explained.

In addition, you should prepare, if available, the patient’s documents: passport, birth certificate and medical insurance policy.

“We draw the attention of callers that employees of mobile emergency medical teams do not issue sick leave certificates or prescribe treatment. Ambulance is an emergency service. Putting on shoe covers is not the responsibility of medical workers and is not regulated by the current regulatory framework. While waiting for the brigade, you can prepare for its arrival. For example, roll up carpets or cover them with something,” the Ministry of Health explained.

They also warned that from December 31 to January 11, the information desk, which issues confirmation of an emergency medical call, will not work. Information on patients will be sent to clinics on their opening days: January 2, 5, 8 and 11.

You can get medical advice for adults and children from senior doctors of the operational department by phone 226-72-42 (round the clock).
