Metaloglobus, the “red lantern” of the Superliga, has 11 points after 21 stages. The only victories of the Bucharesters in the first echelon were achieved at home, at the stadium in Clinceni, 2-1 against FCSB and 2-1 against Farul Constanța.
Before the start of the second part of the season, the management of the club started the winter cleaning at the squad level.
Three terminations officially announced
President Marius Burcă confirmed that three players have terminated their contracts with Metaloglobus:
I have closed collaboration with 3 players so far. Some seats have been released. It is about Achim, Milea and Ubbink. The last one retired, but it would still be useful for us, a plus. He has a fantastic character. We are still in talks with three other players to terminate, we have not closed yet.
I don't think there can be spectacular changes. The budget is limited. You don't come close to the stronger championships abroad and we turn our eyes to smaller teams. You can guess the players and make a good batch, that's clear.

One of the terminated players, suspended for sports betting
Among those who parted ways with Metaloglobus is Cosmin Achim, involved in the past in a betting scandal.
In March 2023, the central defender was fired by Petrolul, being suspected of having bet on his team's matches from the time he played at FC Voluntari.
In June 2023, the FRF suspended him from football for one year, invoking point 5 of Article 60 of the Disciplinary Regulation, and the Disciplinary and Ethics Commission banned him from any football activity for the duration of the sanction.
Pursuant to art. 60.5 with the application of art. 60.1 point 2 of the RD, the defendant Achim Cosmin Florin is sanctioned with the prohibition of any activity related to football for 1 (one) year and a sports penalty of 150,000 lei.

After the expiration of the suspension, Achim signed with ACS Sport Team, a team from League 3. And in January 2025, he arrived at Agricola Borcea, also in the third echelon, until returning to the Superliga.
Modest balance sheet at Metaloglobus
Arriving at Metaloglobus in the summer, Cosmin Achim marked only five matches, being the starter in two of them. He was replaced at half-time in the Metaloglobus – Botoșani 0-2 match and also started in the Romanian Cup match, 2-3 with FC Argeș, a match in which he also scored.
