If there is no Fidesz, there will be war and huge masses of immigrants, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban warned on Saturday during a meeting with voters in Szeged. Parliamentary elections in Hungary are scheduled to take place in April; most independent polls indicate that the opposition TISZA has an advantage.

– If there is no Fidesz, there will be war, there will be masses of immigrants, but there will be no jobs and no population growth. If there is no Fidesz, there is no safe pension, no tax breaks for children, no first home for young people, Orban told voters gathered in southern Hungary.

The Hungarian Prime Minister and his group organize the so-called “anti-war rallies” in other cities of the country, meeting with their supporters.

In his speech, Orban also drew attention to the war in Ukraine, emphasizing that Hungary has a vital interest in the stability of this country.

– A stable Ukraine is in our interest. We provide help, although it hurts that some of it is stolen, but we do what we have to do. The war does not strengthen Ukraine, but destroys it. Only peace can make Ukraine strong, the Hungarian leader noted.

Stressing the need to support US peace efforts led by Donald Trump, he said that “peace is cheaper than war.”

After meeting with voters, Orban repeated on the X website that “the collapse of Ukraine would be a disaster for Hungary.” “The war is weakening Ukraine day by day. Peace is the only thing that can strengthen it. Everyone who really stands on the side of Ukraine must want peace, and want it immediately,” wrote the Hungarian Prime Minister.
