Disaster for the vice-champion of Romania! Defeat by a huge margin at the ground of the last ranked Italy

CSM CSU Oradea, Romania's vice-champion, suffered its second defeat in the second phase of the FIBA Europe Cup. Pallacanestro Reggiana, ranked last in the Italian championship, dominated the confrontation with Cristian Achim's team and prevailed with a difference of 31 points: 90-59.

After last week's failure against KK Bosna, CSM Oradea traveled to Italy, with several problems with the team. More accurate, Jaizec Lottie and Bandja Sy were not available for the match against Pallacanestro Reggiana.

The hosts took advantage of this aspect, but only after the break, when the Bihoren ran out of energy. The first half was balanced, Oradea offering a solid reply and being led by 4 points: 41-37.

Nightmare second half for CSM Oradea: only 22 points scored!

After returning from the locker room, a disastrous innings followed for Cristian Achim's band, who scored only 22 points in 20 minutes. Instead, Reggiana scored 49 points and put on a show in front of their own fans.

In the end, the hosts prevailed 90-59 and handed the visitors their second defeat in the second phase of the FIBA Europe Cup.

Reggiana was led by Troy Caupain (13 points, 4 rebounds) and 4 other players with 10 points: Jaylen Barford, Bryson Williams, Lorenzo Uglietti and Jaime Echenique.

Kris Richard (21 points) and Emmanuel Nzekwesi (19 points, 8 rebounds) stood out from the Oradea camp.

With a record of 0-2, CSM Oradea occupies the last place in group L. Internationally, the Romanian vice-champion will have a break until January 14, 2026, when they will receive the visit of Cedevita Junior Zagreb, another group with two defeats.

In the other group game, KK Bosna cruised past Croatia 85-82 and are 2-0, as is Pallacanestro Reggiana.

Based on these results, as well as the game played by CSM CSU Oradea in the second phase of the FIBA Europe Cup, the red-blues have little chance of qualifying in the “quarters” of the competition.
