“I'm amazed at how many medals mum has won. I can still see her crying!”

Ianis Dumitru, Yasmin Urzică and Alexandru Urzică presented fashion in four collections at the “Junior Couture Show”, a gala for children, organized by designer Alin Gălățescu at the “Marshal Garden” hotel in Bucharest. On the sidelines, their parents, Alina Dumitru and Marius Urzică, encouraged them and took dozens of photos
At the beginning of this week, Olympic champions Alina Dumitru (judo, Beijing 2008) and Marius Urzică (gymnastics, Sydney 2000) went through great emotions, but not in the sports field. Their children went on the fashion catwalk at the “Junior Couture Show”, in a festival organized by the creator Alin Gălățescu, and the parents watched with bated breath and with their phones in hand to take pictures of the little ones.
Ianis Dumitru (9 years old), Yasmin (10 years old) and Alexandru Urzică (14 years old) entered the presentations of four designers: Oana Săvescu, Raluca Soare, Aimee and Raymond.
Alex Urzică: “I dream of winning an Olympic medal, just like my father”
Ianis was one of the models in a spectacular collection of jeans, Alex wore an elegant jacket, and Yasmin changed two outfits, from Raluca Soare's multicolored prints to the incandescent red (skirt and bustier) from Oana Săvescu's portfolio.
National and Balkan champion in gymnastics in his age category, Alex Urzică was faced with a fashion experience for the first time.
“Both activities have their share of difficulty, but here I just relax a little. But I get a little wave of emotions when I see all this commotion around me during the festival. But in gymnastics, it's more difficult anyway, because any wrong step can lead to injuries. Dad never put pressure on me in terms of results in competitions. Everything comes from me, because I like what I do a lot. I dream of winning an Olympic medal one day. That's what I work for every day,” said Alex, whose favorite apparatus is the pommel horse.

“I feel super happy to be participating here. I try to hide my emotions. But it's a field I like. In addition, I take piano and singing lessons from time to time. I'd like to become a singer, and the experience I have now on stage helps me”, pointed out Yasmin Urzică.
I want to be healthy for the European championships next year. I want to bring a good result for Romania from there

Ianis Dumitru, savory: “I once beat my mother in judo, when I was three years old”
Ianis Dumitru also found himself for the first time as a model at a fashion event. “I thought it was something beautiful, it's quite easy, but you feel a bit intimidated on stage. I prefer to do judo, to follow my mother. I would like to become an Olympic champion myself. I know that for this you have to listen to your teachers, work hard and execute the procedures correctly. Understand them and use them on time,” Alina Dumitru's son testified.

And he continued: “I've been trying to do a judo match with my mom since I was three years old and I managed to beat her. That means I'm somehow an Olympic champion, right? I sometimes watch on YouTube the competitions in which my mother competed and I'm amazed how many medals she won, in all the competitions. I didn't expect it! My mother sometimes cries with joy when she watches them, I cry too, but we hug to control our emotions”, was the kid's special confession.
Alina Dumitru: “I want to see my project completed with the hall in Chiajna. It would cost 200,000 euros!”
On the sidelines, Alina Dumitru and her husband sat with their hearts in their mouths. “I liked it tremendously and I'm glad that Ianis took this step, because I knew him emotional, shy. I hope to see him on a podium and in the sport he will choose. For now, he does judo. Now he wore an outfit exactly in his style and I think that also made him not back down because of his emotions”, Alina Dumitru emphasized for GSP.
But what else does Alina Dumitru do? “I train at Steaua, I also have the association that bears my name, it supports and helps the children I train. I also take care of my judo tournament and I really want to build my own gym, where I can show the little ones what this sport really means. Let them gain confidence, be ambitious, determined.”
I bought a plot of land in Chiajna, where I live. There I would like to raise the hall. I'm going to have a discussion with the mayor as well, let's see if we can make a bigger one. Ideally, as I would like, it would probably cost around €200,000, but we'll see what can be done practically

Frozen relations with the wild coach, Florin Bercean: “I was very disappointed”
In the end, Alina Dumitru hesitates to detail the subject of the strained relationship with her former coach, Florin Bercean, the current president of FRJ and the man accused by multiple voices of acts of savagery in the training process, over the years.
“I can't say that we still have a connection like when I was a sportswoman. Nothing has been solved in the meantime. Things have not improved. I was very disappointed after the elections in April, so I preferred to withdraw from the limelight for a while, because I was not feeling well at all. But I'm glad that I have a very good relationship with the International Federation, led by Mr. Vizer, and that's enough for me”, concluded Alina Dumitru.
