Streisand noted that the weekend “made her incredibly sad.” At Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, a gunman dressed in black killed at least two people during exams.
“This weekend has made me incredibly sad. First the tragic shooting at Brown University, then the horrific massacre in Australia, and then the deaths of two people I knew personally, Rob and Michelle Reiner,” she said.
The artist said that she had known Rainer for a long time.
“Rob and I started our careers in the industry together. He was a wonderful actor and a very talented director. He was also a passionate community leader and person. He will be greatly missed. May he and his wife rest in peace,” Streisand wrote.
Context
78-year-old Rob Reiner and his 68-year-old wife Michelle were found dead on December 14 in their home in Los Angeles (USA). The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the case is being investigated as a “possible homicide.” For spouses there were stab wounds on the body. Tabloid TMZ writes that the parents were discovered by their daughter – the director and his wife had their throats cut.
The suspect in the murder is the Reiners' son Nick. He has long suffered from drug addiction and at different periods of his life lived on the streets, calling himself homeless. The Reiners' son is now in the custody of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Bail for his release was set at $4 million.
