PSD President Sorin Grindeanu claimed, on Monday evening, that the party he leads announced ahead of time that it would vote for the simple motion against USR Minister of the Environment Diana Buzoianu. He also said that, regardless of whether he is part of a coalition or not, we must “see the bad things done by the minister”, according to ProTV News.
“I don't think the vote surprised anyone. As for the motion against the Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu, we also announced this ahead of time. Today, we marked the catastrophic management of Mrs. Buzoianu at the Ministry of the Environment, and we sanctioned this,” Grindeanu said.
The social democrat claimed that he had notified Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan about the vote since last week. “We cannot stay, even if we are part of this coalition and just because we are part of this coalition, not to fine the poor management of the Ministry of the Environment”, Sorin Grindeanu also declared.
He emphasized that membership in a coalition does not mean “that we do not see the bad things done by the minister”.
“I told the prime minister that we want that company from Prahova ESZ to be abolished which, for example, here, in Timiş, does not exist. There is no intermediary between Romanian Waters and Aquatim”, concluded the PSD president.

Sorin Grindeanu was absent from Parliament on Monday
Sorin Grindeanu was absent from the vote on the motion submitted against the Bolojan Government. He previously announced that the party he leads will not vote for this motion. Instead, the social democrats present in the Parliament voted the simple motion against Diana Buzoianu, the Minister of the Environment.
“18:30 – Participation and speech at the reopening of the Synagogue in Cetate in Timișoara”, that's all the program of the president of the Chamber of Deputies shows. Sorin Grindeanu has been in Timisoara since the end of last week, where his family lives.
PSD-AUR alliance in the Senate against USR Minister Diana Buzoianu
The simple motion submitted by AUR against the USR Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu, passed with 73 votes “for” and 43 “against”. PSD voted alongside the opposition for the adoption of the motion.
The passing of a simple motion does not automatically lead to the dismissal of a minister, being a parliamentary instrument through which the position is expressed on a certain domestic or foreign policy issue.
“I witnessed a bambilic motion. The result is not a surprising one: I went to the Parliament, I think all the necessary information must be given. I said very clearly from the beginning, I will not give in, I will not resign, I will not be able to be blackmailed with the position”, Buzoianu declared at the end of the meeting.
