In a statement on Sunday to mark the beginning of Hanukkah, Carney described the attack on Sydney's Bondi Beach as a “horrific anti-Semitic terrorist attack” and recalled that parliamentary work is underway on changes to the law to better protect religious and cultural buildings and more effectively prevent hate crimes.
