Antonia revealed that she ended up in hospital following an aesthetic procedure: “The lesson is simple: shortcuts don't lead anywhere good”

The singer announced to her fans that she had health problems following an aesthetic intervention she had several years ago. Antonia told how she came to live this “traumatic and dangerous experience” and drew attention to the dangers faced by people who make decisions under the pressure of perfection promoted in social media.
Antonia told on social networks, in a large message, the difficult moments she went through in 2025.
“I thought a lot before writing this message… whether to post something like this or not, because I'm a pretty private person. But I feel the need to tell you that this year has been extremely difficult for me,” Antonia wrote on Instagram.
The artist says that it all started in June, when months of trials, complicated procedures and three surgeries followed. “It was a period that put me face to face with my limits,” Antonia confessed, stating that the situation could have had a tragic end.
In her message, the singer also spoke openly about the importance of health and the danger of decisions made under the pressure of perfection promoted on social media.
“I learned to love my body as it is, and that if I want to improve my body, I choose to do it naturally, with patience and respect, as I was taught! To stop looking for shortcuts, to stop being lazy because sometimes, the obsession with being “perfect” (each with its own definition) can push you to make decisions that are not worth the price of your health!”, continued the artist.
How Antonia ended up in the hospital
“Any intervention, no matter how small it seems to you, can become a real danger to your health,” warned the artist, stressing that the obsession for a physical ideal.
Antonia explained that eight years ago she resorted to Aquafilling injections in the gluteal area, for augmentation. Although the procedure was done a long time ago, the infection appeared only this year, triggering a real “medical nightmare”.
The singer wanted to publicly thank doctor Bogdan Marinescu and the team from the Plastic Surgery department of the Military Hospital, who took care of her during her hospitalization.
After 11 days spent in the hospital, Antonia announced that she has returned home and is focusing on her recovery. “Health really is everything. Without it, nothing matters anymore,” Antonia pointed out.
The singer explained that she did the aesthetic intervention at a time when she was vulnerable, influenced by the images published by other women on social networks.
“I've been through three pregnancies, and each one comes with real body changes. After each birth, it means starting from scratch: patience, work, recovery. After the third birth, about a year later, I was in a more sensitive period, both physically and emotionally. Mothers know how different this stage can be and how difficult it can be sometimes to find the energy to start over again. I was seeing on Instagram on certain women. I wanted to add more volume, I didn't make a whole new butt,” said Antonia.
“The lesson is clear: shortcuts lead nowhere”
She revealed that once she started having medical problems she couldn't go to the gym anymore and started putting on weight.
“The lesson is clear: shortcuts do not lead anywhere good. Health is all that matters. If you want to motivate yourself, to feel better in your body, do it in a natural and healthy way. And before you choose an easy way, think twice,” Antonia pointed out.
She urged her fans to take care of their health.
“Others have real problems with the poor thing's health and… I look at what you can do to your health because of a stupid thing like that. We need to thank God for our health and not play with it at all!” concluded the artist.
What is aquafilling?
Aquafilling is a procedure used to enlarge the buttocks by injecting volumizing substances. They are inserted directly into the buttocks and are a cheaper alternative to other surgical procedures that have the same purpose.
The substances used for augmentation can migrate to other parts of the body, with potentially fatal side effects, plastic surgeons say.
Specialists say that the procedure is unsafe and the dangers to which women are exposed if they resort to this intervention far outweigh the possible benefits.
The procedure has been banned in Romania since 2018, according to CSID.
