In the cities of responsibility of SUEK-Krasnoyarsk, miners were noted for their responsiveness, caringness and desire to make the world around them kinder and better.

For active participation in the 10th anniversary “Red Carnation” event, the Nazarovo open-pit mine received gratitude from the Memory of Generations charity foundation. The “Red Carnation” campaign is traditionally held from April to June, and involves a charitable fundraiser to support veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

Coal miners of the Nazarovsky open-pit mine take an active part in it every year. In the year of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory in Nazarovo, the campaign was launched by Dmitry Danilovich Abramov, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, an honored miner of Russia, who celebrated his 101st birthday this year.

“I have been participating in all the volunteer initiatives of the Nazarovo open-pit mine for many years, and every time I am convinced: kindness and help are not one-time actions, but a way of life! When you see how happy a child is, how the eyes of veterans light up when they meet, you understand that all this is not in vain,” shared the volunteer initiator, leading specialist in the HR and social affairs department of the Nazarovo open-pit mine Natalya Zima.

Activists of the volunteer movement of the Borodino open-pit mine – the chief specialist of the directorate for relations and communications Mzia Zaridze and energy engineer Anastasia Oreshkina – were thanked by the Regional Center for the Support and Development of Public Initiatives. They received well-deserved recognition for their active participation and significant contribution to the organization and conduct of an all-Russian online vote on the selection of public areas for improvement in 2026 within the framework of the federal project “Formation of a comfortable urban environment” of the national project “Infrastructure for Life”. For two months, in their free time, employees of the Borodino open-pit mine helped their colleagues vote on the online platform for one of the five territories entered into the competition this year.

“It is symbolic that in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, Borodino residents voted for the creation of the Maysky military-patriotic park,” says Anastasia Oreshkina. “According to the project, there will be a thematic art object, comfortable recreation areas, an obstacle course with a site for military drills, a children’s play area, paths will be arranged, and modern lighting will be installed. It is very important that residents are interested and understand that today we ourselves make decisions about landscaping, and it depends only on us what kind of city we and our children will live in.”

The volunteer movement in SUEK-Krasnoyarsk has been operating for more than 8 years and has received recognition at the federal level. The voluntary activities of the miners have been awarded at prestigious competitions, such as: #WeAreTogether, “There Will Be Heroes!”, “Crystal Pyramid”, “Leaders of Corporate Philanthropy” and others. With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, SUEK-Krasnoyarsk volunteers became involved in providing assistance from the first days. The company’s concern was also highly appreciated by Russian President Vladimir Putin: the coal miners were awarded a diploma and a commemorative medal “For their selfless contribution to the organization of the All-Russian mutual assistance action #WeAreTogether.”
