In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, an ex-policeman was fined 59 times the amount of the bribe received

Former traffic police inspector of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “Achinsky” was found guilty of receiving a bribe and using one’s official powers contrary to the interests of the service. This was reported by the joint press service of the courts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

The corruption crime was committed on April 24, 2025. From the materials of the criminal case it follows that a police officer in the performance of his official powers received a bribe in the amount of 3,400 rubles from a GAZelle driver who was stopped for violating traffic rules and did not record the circumstances of the administrative offense he committed.

According to Part 1 of Art. 291.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe personally in an amount not exceeding 10,000 rubles) and Part 1 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (an official’s use of his official powers contrary to the interests of the service, if this act was committed out of selfish interest and entailed a significant violation of the interests of society and the state protected by law) The court sentenced the ex-traffic cop to a fine of 200,000 rubles.

The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
