With the arrival of spring, employees of the enterprises of the Siberian Generating Company in the Krasnoyarsk Territory traditionally go out to large-scale cleaning of the territories. Energy workers not only restore order at production sites, but also take care of the adjacent public spaces, making them cleaner and more comfortable for residents.
Three “sanitary Fridays” have already been held at Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1. Station employees removed last year's leaves and debris from their area of concern, including the city park located next to the station. Here, energy workers annually restore order, maintaining the appearance of the park throughout the year.
This time, during the cleanup, the participants collected 200 bags of garbage. During the spring cleanup days, teams from two other Krasnoyarsk thermal power plants also go out to clean the city areas adjacent to the station. They focus on the weather; this year it is changeable.
Employees of the Krasnoyarsk Heating Network joined the city cleanup on Malakhovskaya Street, here they collected leaves, tidied up the lawns, and swept the paths. The enterprises’ own equipment, bobcats, were used in the work, which made it possible to speed up the process and increase its efficiency.
“We are always happy to participate in such events. This is already a good tradition. Last year, for example, they planted shrubs on Malakhovskaya, and even earlier – birches. We try not only to clean the area, but also to make it more comfortable and greener. It is important for us to maintain order where we work and live,” notes Viktor Aleksandrov, head of the department for preparation and repair of the Krasnoyarsk Heating Network (a branch of the Yenisei TGC, a division of the SGC in the Yenisei Siberia region).
Spring work will continue at other SGC enterprises. Krasnoyarsk State District Power Plant-2 plans to start cleaning after the May holidays: power engineers will tidy up a section of the Zelenogorsk embankment, and will also take part in an environmental action to clean up the banks of the Kan River.
The embankment of this reservoir will be cleaned in another city. Power engineers from two enterprises at once – the Kanskaya Thermal Power Plant and the Kanskaya Heating Network – will join forces to restore order on Vasily Yakovenko Street. And young specialists from the Nazarovo State District Power Plant will clean up the area near the Chulym River, in the area of the dam. SGC annually supports environmental initiatives, uniting employees around the idea of caring for nature and the urban environment. Spring cleanup days become not only a part of industrial culture, but also a contribution to the common cause of improving the quality of life in the region.
