The food blogger noted that Christmas donuts are a traditional Ukrainian dish that is prepared for the holidays.
Dough products
- 250 ml milk;
- 1 tbsp. l. Sahara;
- 1 tbsp. l. flour;
- 35 g yeast.
Products for dough
- 2 tbsp. l. cognac – thanks to it the dough will be more fluffy and crispy.
- 100 g melted butter;
- 3 eggs;
- 100 g sugar;
- 650 g flour;
- zest of one lemon.
Filling ingredients
- 200 g chocolate paste;
- 200 g apple jam.
Preparation
- Mix milk, yeast, sugar and flour in a container. Stir until smooth. Cover the dough and place in a warm place for 20 minutes.
- Mix eggs with sugar in a blender. Add melted butter.
- Add lemon zest to the dough. Pour in the cognac.
- Combine the beaten eggs with the dough. Stir.
- Gradually add flour and knead the dough. It should be soft and fluffy, and not stick to your hands.
- Transfer the dough into a container, cover with a towel and leave in a warm place for 40 minutes.
- After this, stir the dough again and set it to rise a second time.
- Form donuts with filling. Place them on pieces of parchment paper.
- Prepare the pampushki in a saucepan with heated vegetable oil over low heat. Place the dough in the pan along with parchment paper so that the donuts do not get damaged.
- Before serving, sprinkle the pampushki with powdered sugar.
