The food blogger noted that Christmas donuts are a traditional Ukrainian dish that is prepared for the holidays.

Dough products

  • 250 ml milk;
  • 1 tbsp. l. Sahara;
  • 1 tbsp. l. flour;
  • 35 g yeast.

Products for dough

  • 2 tbsp. l. cognac – thanks to it the dough will be more fluffy and crispy.
  • 100 g melted butter;
  • 3 eggs;
  • 100 g sugar;
  • 650 g flour;
  • zest of one lemon.

Filling ingredients

  • 200 g chocolate paste;
  • 200 g apple jam.

Preparation

  1. Mix milk, yeast, sugar and flour in a container. Stir until smooth. Cover the dough and place in a warm place for 20 minutes.
  2. Mix eggs with sugar in a blender. Add melted butter.
  3. Add lemon zest to the dough. Pour in the cognac.
  4. Combine the beaten eggs with the dough. Stir.
  5. Gradually add flour and knead the dough. It should be soft and fluffy, and not stick to your hands.
  6. Transfer the dough into a container, cover with a towel and leave in a warm place for 40 minutes.
  7. After this, stir the dough again and set it to rise a second time.
  8. Form donuts with filling. Place them on pieces of parchment paper.
  9. Prepare the pampushki in a saucepan with heated vegetable oil over low heat. Place the dough in the pan along with parchment paper so that the donuts do not get damaged.
  10. Before serving, sprinkle the pampushki with powdered sugar.
