The German Minister of Defense, Boris Pistorius, is no longer coming to Romania on Tuesday, the visit being canceled at the last minute due to changes in the German official's agenda. Pistorius was to meet with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.
MApN announced on Monday evening that the initial program would be adapted, with activities to be carried out “at the level of secretaries of state”.
“The Ministry of National Defense informs that, following the changes in the agenda of the German side, the activities planned tomorrow, December 9, at the 57th Air Base “Captain Aviator Constantin Cantacuzino” in Mihail Kogălniceanu will be held at the level of state secretaries. The initially established program will continue, with the necessary adaptations, so that the objectives of both parties are met”, the MApN press release states, according to Digi24.
The visit of the German official was announced by the office of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan on December 5.
The government sent a similar information, in the context in which the two officials had also scheduled a joint press conference.
The Defense portfolio is temporarily led by Radu Miruță, after the resignation of Ionuț Moșteanu on November 28, following the scandal regarding his studies.
