Negotiations on a “peace plan” have begun in the United States. Rubio said Ukraine will be “sovereign and prosperous”

He had previously announced the start of negotiations, but deleted the post a few minutes later. At 17.19 he restored it. The text completely repeated the preliminary statement. Umerov also added photos from the negotiations.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced great progress in negotiations to achieve peace in Ukraine, a video on Facebook was published by Suspilne.

“This is not just an end to the war, it is an end with the creation of a mechanism for the future that will ensure that such a war does not happen again, and that Ukraine can provide prosperity for all its people. […] We are already halfway towards ensuring the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, we have made significant progress today,” Rubio noted.

Umerov, in turn, thanked the American people and US President Donald Trump for the peace initiative.

“Over the last 10 months, we have made significant progress, we have significant support, and we are now discussing the future of Ukraine, the security of Ukraine, so that aggression against Ukraine does not happen again. We are discussing the prosperity of Ukraine and the restoration of Ukraine. Thank you for what the US team is doing, for listening to us and working with us. Thank you for everything that has been done to date, and we look forward to a productive, successful meeting today.”

After this, journalists were asked to leave the meeting; the question of whether Ukraine had already received any security guarantees was not answered.
