Rapid defeated Csikszereda Miercurea Ciuc 4-1 on Friday evening in Bucharest, and thus ensured that it will remain in first position at the end of the 18th stage of the Romanian SuperLiga.
The hosts' goals were scored by Grameni (10'), Dobre (27'), Petrila (82') and Manea (86'), while Eppel (38') scored for the guests.
The win in the opening round takes Rapid to 38 points from 18 games. FC Botoșani (33 p) and Universitatea Craiova (32 p) are also on the podium.
Botoșani will meet Unirea Slobozia in this stage, away, on Sunday, from 17:30. The University of Craiova will play in the last match of the round, on Monday, from 19:00, on the field of the University of Cluj.
The two teams can be surpassed this weekend only by Dinamo, which has 31 points and will play against Oțel, on Saturday, from 20:45, at the National Arena.
