Iuliu Mureșan, the president of CFR Cluj, went live after the team from Gruia won against the leader Rapid, score 3-0 in stage #17 of the Superliga.
The president of CFR Cluj addressed several topics in the intervention: the appointment of Pancu to CFR Cluj, the financial problems, but also the departure of Răzvan Zamfir, the head of the scouting center at the club.
Iuliu Mureșan reacted after CFR Cluj – Rapid 3-0: “Pancu brought a big change to the team. The second option was Ciobotariu”
The president of CFR Cluj revealed the fact that if Daniel Pancu did not accept the offer, the next option was Liviu Ciobotariu. However, Iuliu Muresan was satisfied with the choice made.
“The attitude has changed a lot in the first place. Today was a significant, clear win and the team wanted it very much. It's been a long time since I've seen the boys so happy after the game on the field and in the dressing room. It was a nice atmosphere. He needed that on the team. Pancu brought a big change to the team. It totally changed the training. He was a striker and he likes to play on the attack.
He came in confident that we had valuable players, we didn't have a team. I like this spirita. When Pancu came, his second name was Ciubotariu. We wanted to bring in a free coach, it was difficult to take from the teams. I had a list of 4-5 free coaches from which I chose Pancone and I like it. I chose well.
Wins bring wins normally. We have tough matches. The schedule is tough, but if the team plays like this we will cause problems everywhere and we will get many points. Access to the play-offs is difficult, but we have to hope. We have many teams between us and 6th place.
They don't sit still either, they make points and it's quite complicated. Our main goal has become the Romanian Cup because it can give us access to the Europa League“, Iuliu Muresan transmitted to Digi Sport Special.
Iuliu Mureșan spoke about the financial situation at the club from Gruia: “We must sell in the winter. We have offers, but I don't want to disturb”
“If there were financial grievances, they didn't play out like that. We work it out along the way based on the deadlines we have on various payments, but we work them out.
I made some big payments and got out of foreclosure. I don't like to give details about money because I don't work in accounting. I take care of other things at the club. I know how much has been given, but I don't like to talk. I have a mandate contract for the position of president of the club, but at my request I also deal with sports issues.
We need to get organized for winter camp. You cannot camp in Cluj. At the training base we have heating, but it is very expensive. Rather than paying heating for two weeks, you'd better go to Italy or Spain in the camp.
We have money now. When I came in the first days, the idea was to stay in Cluj. The cantonment was what it was and we had no budget. Now we pay the training tickets, everything is paid, we go to Spain.
The financial situation is and has been difficult, but we are solving it in the mandatory order of payments. Suddenly it can't be. We must sell in the winter. We have offers for two, three players, but I don't want to talk too much because Louis Munteanu was distracted very wrongly and due to the pressure he was out of shape and he is no longer the player he was. I don't want to disturb“, Iuliu Muresan said.
I was Răzvan Zamfir's godfather, I have a special relationship with him. My personal relationship with Răzvan remains the same. I understood him and insisted that we let him go. He wanted to leave and when he saw that I was coming to CFR Cluj I confused him and he refused the people from U Cluj.
It was on standby. He thought about leaving and with regret I let him go. My relationship with him remains the same. He has amounts to recover, but we take it in the order of payments, which are mandatory
