AJet, a low-cost company owned by Turkish Airlines, will inaugurate its first route to Romania next summer. According to information published by Boarding Pass, the Bodrum-Bucharest route has already been entered into the booking system for the month of June, with a frequency of one flight per week.
According to Profit.ro, as early as the end of 2023 it was mentioned that AJet could also become active on the Romanian market in the future. Turkish Airlines, the parent company, ranks second worldwide in the number of destinations, flying to 131 countries to 340 cities and 352 airports, and is the leader in international destinations.
AJet makes its debut on the Romanian market
Turkish Airlines has been present in Romania since 1993 and has its own employees here, as in all 129 countries in which it operates, including Nepal. Although AJet operates in Turkey and in destinations in Europe, the Middle East or Central Asia, Romania was not on its map until now.
AJet, formerly known as AnadoluJet until 31 March 2024, initially operated as a Turkish Airlines brand before becoming an independent airline. The company currently owns a fleet of 86 aircraft and has proposed to expand it to 200 aircraft in the next ten years, operating flights to 44 countries, with 42 domestic routes and 80 international routes, according to data analyzed by Profit.ro.
