The Ministry of the Interior is warning on Saturday about a fake video, created with the help of AI programs, which has gone viral on social networks.
The Ministry of Interior shared on its Facebook page an image from a video that went viral online. The video in question shows a woman getting into a BMW police car. The images are rigged, and in reality this did not happen, draws the attention of the MAI.
“Not everything that goes 'viral' is real. A clip can be shared thousands of times in minutes, even if it's fake. Popularity does not mean authenticity. “Manipulative materials become viral precisely because they cause strong emotions and are created to appear credible,” the MAI said.
The MAI appeals to citizens not to follow such incitements and does not distribute the fake clips.
“Verify the source and study the images carefully. Do not share what cannot be confirmed. Viral is not synonymous with truth,” the MAI said.
